Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has directed the digital mapping of all ongoing development schemes to ensure transparency and public accessibility.
He issued the directive during a high-level meeting at the mayor’s office on Saturday, where officials reviewed the progress of the Engineering Department ahead of the fiscal year-end.
Director General Technical Services Tariq Mughal informed the meeting that 219 development schemes have been completed so far, with several more expected to be finalised before 30 June. Projects worth approximately Rs2.5 billion are underway following tenders' issuance.
The mayor instructed officials to update all ongoing schemes on Google Maps to help citizens stay informed, avoid traffic congestion, and monitor progress in real time. He also emphasised the timely completion of all projects and warned of strict action in case of delays.
Municipal Commissioner SM Afzal Zaidi (PAS), Financial Advisor Gulzar Abro, DG Parks Akhlaq Yousafzai, Director Media Daniyal Siyal, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
