Stars down Conquerors to win National Women’s T20 Tournament
KARACHI: Stars, under the captaincy of Sidra Ameen, have won the National Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament, here at National Stadium on Satuday.
In the final, they defeated Fatima Sana’s Conquerors by 42 runs. Stars won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 135 runs for the loss of five wickets.
Sana Urooj was the top scorer with 44 runs, while Huraina Sajjad contributed 23 runs. Nashra Sandhu and Mahnoor Aftab took two wickets each. Conquerors were bowled out for 93 runs in 19.4 overs. Dua Majid scored 29 runs. Anosha Nasir took 3 wickets for 14 runs. Waheeda Akhtar dismissed two batters. Anosha Nasir and Sana Urooj were named Players of the Match.
Fatima Sana received the Player of the Tournament award. Sidra Ameen was declared the Best Batter, Rameen Shamim and Anosha Nasir the Best Bowlers, and Sidra Nawaz the Best Wicketkeeper.
