Ayaz Sadiq slams NA IT wing over delay in digitalisation
Dr Shazia Sobiya Soomro drew attention to fact that NA was to be digitalised 10 years ago, but that system had not been used yet
ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Monday strongly criticised the Information Technology (IT) Department of the National Assembly Secretariat for failing to complete the digitalisation process, despite a decade having passed since its initiation.
“This is the incompetence of the IT department of the National Assembly Secretariat, which has not been digitalised despite passage of 10 years,” he said in a remarks during the question hour in the National Assembly.
The project of digitalisation of the National Assembly Secretariat was started during the first tenure of Ayaz Sadiq as the speaker in 2015 and despite passage of 10 years, it was not completed yet.
On Monday, during question hour, Ayaz Sadiq promised immediate implementation of digitalisation in Parliament House. Dr Shazia Sobiya Soomro drew attention to the fact that the National Assembly was to be digitalised 10 years ago, but that system had not been used yet.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq said that for 10 years, he, Asad Qaiser and Raja Pervaiz Ashraf also tried, but it was incompetence of the IT wing of National Assembly staff who did not complete the task. “Now God willing, we will do this work,” he assured the house.
