Traffic response units established

Rawalpindi:The City Traffic Police (CTP) has established 'Traffic Response Unit' to swiftly respond to road emergencies and traffic jams in Rawalpindi.

On directives of Punjab Chief Minister, the traffic response unit has been created by the Chief Traffic Police Rawalpindi, Beenish Fatema to ensure smooth flow of traffic in city, the spokesman of CTP said. To start with, the traffic response unit has been divided in two units having 10 motorcycles and as many traffic wardens.

It has been further divided into two units with one unit includes Misrial Road, Girja Road, Tench Bhatta, Adiala Road and Chakri Road and while second unit includes Civil Lines, Murree Road, Saddar, Raja Bazaar, Ganj Mandi, Faizabad and Sadiqabad.

The motorcycles of units will be equipped with public address system and sirens to clear traffic congestions. The personnel deputed in unit will continuously remain in in touch with duty officer at traffic headquarters.
