This refers to the letter ‘Privatising PIA’ (May 4, 2025) by Nabeel Badr. It is important for Pakistan to develop a sensible national commercial aviation policy. This should include the privatisation of PIA and the promotion of new budget airlines.
The Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Sialkot airports must also be upgraded. If we want overseas tourists to visit Pakistan more often, we should have first-class airports to greet them.
