Country first
Our recently-halted conflict with India brought back some old memories. I can still remember the 1965 war with India. I was in 9th class and quite energetic. We took first aid training and civil defence training at the time and jumped into the trenches when the siren sounded. But, on one occasion, when an Indian plane flew over our heads while being chased by our airforce, we came out of the trenches chanting ‘Allah O Akbar’.
There was no sectarian or political feeling and the whole nation stood united and firm against India. During this latest conflict, my heart bled when I saw friends who follow a particular political party forwarding Indian fake news against Pakistan. Supporting the enemy’s viewpoint is not patriotic by any means. Pakistan should always be our first priority.
