KARACHI: Geo’s talkshow host Shahzeb Khanzada in his show, ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath’, on Friday night showed clips of just some of the fake news peddled by Indian news channels on Thursday night.
The clips show the war hysteria, paranoia, war-mongering and plain lies the Indian media has resorted to in the past few days especially.
Here are some of the fake news put out by Indian channels:
1. Pakistani airforce jets down in Akhnur and Rajashtan — using footage from Gaza.
2. Karachi naval base destroyed by the Indian Navy.
3. Pakistan F-16s downed.
4. Pakistani pilots in Indian custody.
5. Sialkot, Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi all attacked by India.
6. Indian army enters Pakistan.
7. Quetta attacked by the Baloch.
8. Karachi Port attacked by Indian Navy.
9. India strikes Islamabad.
10. Pakistan fighter jets downed.
Most of these stories were fact-checked almost immediately by Pakistani social media. While some in India did try and delete their social media posts that used these fake stories, Indian channels have by and large continued to peddle such stories.
