The Pakistan Navy has categorically stated that it is ready to confront any misadventure of the enemy.
Speaking exclusively to this correspondent, the Pakistan Navy spokesperson said on Friday that if the Indian Navy moves towards Pakistan with an ill intent, it will be sunk in the Arabian Sea.
Earlier, British newspaper The Telegraph had claimed that India has sent its warships equipped with supersonic cruise missiles towards Pakistan to target the port of Karachi.
It was claimed that India has sent an aircraft carrier, destroyers, frigates and anti-submarine ships, which are roughly 300 to 400 miles from the Pakistani coast. Some of them are equipped with Russian-made BrahMos missiles. About sixty percent of Pakistan’s trade passes through the Karachi port, and this city is considered the jugular vein for the country’s trade.
The spokesperson for the Pakistan Navy, while talking to this correspondent, said that just as the Pakistan Air Force has defeated the enemy, with India avoiding showing the wreckage of its aircraft to its media, the other wing of Pakistan’s armed forces, the Pakistan Navy, is also fully prepared to show its capabilities.
Security sources said on the report of the British newspaper that no Indian Navy ship is yet close enough to target Pakistan, and all cities and shipping lanes are safe. Speaking to the host of Geo News programme ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath’, Rear Admiral (retd) Faisal Shah said the Indian fleet is in international waters and is about 700 kilometres from Pakistan, while the range of India’s BrahMos missile is 450 kilometres.
He said there is no open path for the Indian Navy. The Pakistan Navy is also ready and knows it and the Indian fleet is also on the target of the Pakistan Navy. The Pakistan Navy is monitoring it and is ready to stop it if it moves forward, he emphasized. In the context of the Pakistan-India situation, it should be expected that the Indian fleet will be at that same place.
In the conversation with Shahzeb Khanzada on the programme ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath, he further said the Pakistan Navy is the navy of 2025 and it has come a long way.
The real importance of an aircraft carrier is the fighter jets flying from it and Indian aircraft are not capable of confronting Pakistan, so the aircraft carrier itself is a big target, he said, adding that Pakistani forces can take on those aircraft and the fleet.
Meanwhile, security sources said that after being badly beaten in the air and land war, India has now started spreading news of aggression from its navy in the media. After being beaten in the air and on the ground by Pakistani forces over the past 72 hours, India has started selling lies in the foreign media, they said.
The sources noted that the misleading news of the advance of the armed Indian aircraft carrier towards Karachi was carried in The Telegraph. The Indian aircraft carrier is in the same place or even slightly behind in international waters where it was at the time of the Indian attack on the night of May 6/7, the said.
The Indian aircraft carrier is still in its same place and has not made any further progress, according to the sources.
The Telegraph article, in order to create a sensation, said the Karachi airport is within the range of the armed aircraft carrier, they said. This claim, the security sources said, is ridiculous because today’s modern weapons can hit any target inside the enemy country from any place with a long range.
They also stressed that Pakistani forces are fully alert to every trick of the enemy. The Pakistani forces are fully capable of destroying all targets in enemy territory effectively, at any time, place and with appropriate weapons, they maintained.
According to the security sources, Pakistani forces are giving and will continue to give a befitting reply to any aggression of the enemy.
