Woman killed as mortar hits house

Madeef Khan and his family members were at home when a mortar shell fell there and exploded in Tirah Valley

BARA: A woman was killed when a mortar shell fell on a house in the Maidan area in Tirah Valley on early Friday, official and local sources said. It was learnt that Madeef Khan and his family members were at home when a mortar shell fell there and exploded in the Malikdinkhel area in Tirah Valley.

Madeef’s wife was critically injured.

The woman was rushed to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

It may be mentioned here that four children were injured in the Akakhel area in Tirah two days ago in another such incident.
