Two alleged robbers killed in Nowshera

NOWSHERA: Two alleged robbers were killed in two separate encounters with the police in the jurisdictions of Akora Khattak and Azakhel police stations on Tuesday.

The police also recovered stolen motorcycles, mobile phones, and weapons from the deceased suspects.District Police Officer (DPO) Abdul Rashid Khan said the first incident took place in the jurisdiction of Akora Khattak Police Station. Police were on routine patrol when two residents of Tordher area of Swabi district, including Muhammad Faizan and Abrar, reported that two armed suspects on motorcycles had snatched their motorcycle and cash at gunpoint before fleeing toward Nowshera.

The police immediately launched a pursuit. During the chase, he said, the robbers opened fire on the police. And in the exchange of fire, he said, one suspect was killed on the spot while the other managed to escape. The deceased was identified as Siraj, son of Umar Gul, originally from Nangarhar, Afghanistan, currently residing in Tajabad, Board, Peshawar. The weapon used in the robbery was recovered from him.

In the second incident, an alleged robber was killed in an exchange of fire with police in the jurisdiction of Azakhel Police Station, Nowshera. According to police officials, the incident occurred during a routine patrol when the cops encountered a suspected criminal, leading to a shootout.

The suspect was identified as Hazrat Wali, son of Farhat Gul, a resident of Nauthia Saddar, Peshawar. Police recovered a motorcycle, a mobile phone, and a weapon from the deceased.According to the District Police Officer (DPO) of Nowshera, the killed robber was wanted in several criminal cases.
