PESHAWAR: The activists of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) on Friday staged a rally in connection with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Foundation Day and demanded immediate release of party founder Imran Khan.
The rally was led by former provincial minister and senior PTI leader Kamran Bangash. The participants were carrying PTI flags and chanted slogans in support of the party and its founder.
Following the rally, Kamran Bangash addressed party workers at the ongoing protest camp at Assembly Chowk.
“Our opponents believed that PTI would be eliminated, but the party and its founder have only grown more popular,” he went on to add.
He added that “the founder of PTI lives in the heart of every Pakistani, and the dream of eliminating this party will never come true.”
Criticising the February 8 general elections, Bangash declared, “We reject the results of the February 8 elections in which our mandate was stolen. That election was a dark stain on the history of Pakistan.”
“Our founder will be released soon and will once again become the prime minister. Only Imran Khan can pull the country out of the prevailing crises,” he added.
