Committee constituted over child pornographic videos

MANSEHRA: The Oghi Tehsil Council has constituted a committee to investigate child pornographic videos with the Cybercrime Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency.

“This committee would take up child pornographic videos with the FIA to ensure an early arrest of the culprits behind such activities,” tehsil chairman Nawabzada Hassam told the session held with acting presiding officer Syed Arif Shah in the chair.

Besides tehsil council’s members, the session was also attended by the local elders, police and representatives of other devolved departments.The Tehsil chairman said that the gangsters involved in uploading child pornographic videos and content are also blackmailing adolescents through social media platforms.

“Those involved in blackmailing and uploading pornographic content on social media might be taken to justice without any further delay,” Mr Hassam said.He said that police should also track child pornography sites and block them permanently.

“We cannot allow a handful of people to challenge the dignity and future of our youths and blackmail them through social media platforms,” Hassam said.Tahir Swati, Attaullah Tanoli, Dr Wajid Ali, Habib Basikhel, Arif Shah and others also addressed the session and demanded an immediate arrest of those involved in running pornography sites, shattering the dignity of those children in question.

Speaking on the occasion deputy superintendent of police in Oghi, Waheed Khan, and investigation officer Inspector Waris Khan briefed the council about the arrest of culprits, who abducted a boy and uploaded his assault video on social media.“We are working to trace such online platforms which are being used by culprits to upload obscene content,” the DSP said.
