HARIPUR: A mother of four children was found dead in the left bank canal of Khanpur dam, police said here on Wednesday.
Family of the deceased, however, accused the husband of the woman for allegedly committing her murder using the method of forced drowning. The police in Khanpur said that some area people spotted a body of a woman in the left bank canal of Khanpur dam and informed the police and rescue authorities who shifted the body to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Khanpur.
Officials said that the woman was later identified as Rashna Khan, 35, resident of Darra Dada Shaheed village. According to the police, the woman was the mother of four minor children and left home to take her children to school in Khanpur in the morning but could not return.
A doctor who was part of the autopsy team told newsmen that they have collected and sent the samples from the body to FSL for in depth and detailed analysis.Meanwhile, father of the deceased woman, Muhammad Javed, had accused Faisal Zaman, the husband of his daughter, for committing her murder by drowning her in the Dam’s canal.
