Ashab reaches RC Pro Series semis

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Ashab Irfan reached the semifinals of the $15000 RC Pro Series in the United States on Wednesday. Fourth seed overpowered sixth seed Matias Knudsen from Colombia 1-7, 11-9, 6-11, 12-14, 11-6 in 87 minutes in the quarterfinals.
Now, he will face fifth seed Spencer Lovejoy from the US in the semis. However, eighth seed Nasir Iqbal was stunned by Charlie Lee from England 10-12, 11-6, 4-11, 10-12 in 62 minutes in the second round.
