Junaid Akbar says PTI stands united under Imran
Addressing ‘Release Imran Khan convention’ in Karak, Junaid said that any grouping in party would not work in PTI
KARAK: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial President Junaid Akbar on Saturday said that his party was united under the leadership of founding chairman Imran Khan and claimed that any grouping inside the party was meaningless.
Addressing ‘Release Imran Khan convention’ in Karak, he said that any grouping in the party would not work in PTI.
Junaid Akbar conceded that there was grouping inside the party but the workers of PTI were not political slaves to follow the elements with vested interests.
He dispelled the impression that he had any differences with Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur but added in the same breath that the offices of the government and organizational structure should be separated so that each person could be able to focus on their responsibilities in a better way. Junaid Akbar complained that the political leadership of PTI was not permitted to meet Imran Khan in jail and claimed that he would not accept the office of provincial president of the party if Imran Khan was not in prison.
The PTI provincial chief conceded that they had secured votes in the name of Imran Khan and added he would not be able to get elected as union council member without his party ticket.
There was disorder in the convention and the workers chanted slogans of Barrister Saif and Mohsin Naqvi ‘bhai bhai’. The workers carried placards with slogans against the PTI government.
