Journalist murdered in Thari Mirwah
Currently, four accused including Niaz Badami have been arrested
SUKKUR: The body of a TV journalist, Allah Dino Shar, was found in the Thari Mirwah tehsil of Khairpur on Thursday.
The police described the journalist’s killing as ‘brutal’ and termed it as targeted killing. The police also arrested four suspects including a woman, her brothers and a friend of the journalist.
According to the initial police reports, Allah Dino Shar’s body was found under grim circumstances, bearing multiple injuries inflicted by sharp weapons. The ferocity of the attack has led investigators to suspect that it was a targeted killing.
Police have shifted the body to a nearby hospital for medico-legal examination.
Khairpur SSP Dr Samiullah Soomro said that four suspects including a woman were arrested in the murder case of the journalist, from whom the police also recovered a weapon used in the murder. He added that further investigation was underway.
During the initial investigation, it was revealed that Allah Dino Sher’s close friend gave money to the accused belonging to the Chana community to kill the journalist.
Currently, four accused including Niaz Badami have been arrested. Police sources said the arrested accused has also confessed to committing the journalist’s murder.
