OGDC restores oil, gas production at Chak 2-2
KARACHI: Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL) has successfully revived production from the Chak 2-2 well in Sindh’s Sinjhoro Block, the company revealed in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
The state-backed driller, which operates the block with a 62.5 per cent stake, along with Government Holdings (Private) Limited (22.5 per cent) and Orient Petroleum (15 per cent), said the well’s sidetrack and recompletion in the Basal Sand formation have yielded 115 barrels per day (BPD) of oil, seven million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas, and 21 metric tons per day (MTon/D) of LPG.
The produced gas is now being processed at the Sinjhoro Gas Processing Plant and injected into Sui Southern Gas Company’s (SSGCL) network, ensuring a stable supply to the national grid. OGDC is committed to exploring and developing Pakistan’s natural resources efficiently and sustainably, ensuring value creation for stakeholders and contributing to the nation’s energy needs., the statement added.
