IHC adjourns hearing in case of production order of Senator Ejaz

ISLAMABAD: Acting Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC), while seeking next date of Senate session from Babar Awan, has adjourned hearing of petition regarding production order of PTI senator Ejaz Chaudhry till April 8.

The petition came up for hearing before IHC’s acting chief justice Sarfraz Dogar Monday. Counsel Babar Awan appeared in the court. Babar Awan said notice was issued to the respondents during previous hearing. Some replies have come. The reply from two respondents superintendent jail and IG Jails have not been received.

The IHC acting CJ inquired is there no session of Senate yet. Babar Awan told the court there is no session of Senate as yet. But Senate committee meeting is underway. The committee whose meeting is being held has asked to produce him.

The IHC acting CJ directed we fix the date after Eidul Fitr. Next session of Senate will take place when. The court be informed about the date in this regard. The court adjourned hearing of Senator Ejaz Chaudhry’s petition till April 8.
