ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram Saturday condemned what he called the brutal use of force against the protesters of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) in Quetta.
“The oppressive regime has once again crossed all boundaries of brutality in its desperate attempt to cling to power, even at the cost of national unity and integrity,” he charged in reaction to the development.
The PTI spokesman lashed out at the PPP government for police crackdown on unarmed peaceful protesters. He alleged that ‘installed’ chief minister and his leader, Bilawal, would be held accountable for this barbarity and inhuman act.
Waqas Akram claimed that the ‘fake’ chief minister, who once claimed all was well in Balochistan, now faces a shutdown of the provincial capital.
He expressed solidarity with the people of Balochistan and the families of missing persons during this difficult time.
He demanded instant release of all detainees including Dr Mahrang Baloch.
“We demand that all missing persons be presented before a court of law. If any individual is found guilty, he should be dealt with in accordance with legal procedures,” he added.
He lambasted the Lahore administration for once again rejecting a PTI application to hold a public gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan under the false pretext of security concerns, which is ridiculous and unjustifiable, calling it a premeditated decision.
