Youth Affairs Dept hosts Pink Power moot
LAHORE : The Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab marked International Women’s Day with the vibrant Pink Power CEO Conference-cum-Festival held at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex E-Library on Saturday. The event celebrated women’s achievements and aimed to inspire the next generation by showcasing female leadership and entrepreneurship.
Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including Punjab Population Welfare Department DG Saman Rai, Director Admin Dr. M. Kaleem, Prof-Dr Faleeha Zahra and Director Youth Affairs Syed Umair Hassan. Other notable participants included Ms Zeeshan Zia Raja, Deputy Director Shaista Qaiser, Assistant Director Sajid Ali, prominent women community leaders, and a large gathering of female students.
The conference featured inspiring success stories from female Chief Executive Officers of Pakistan’s top companies, who shared their journeys to motivate the audience.
Addressing the gathering, Saman Rai emphasized the importance of women asserting their significance with courage. “The Punjab Youth Affairs Department has taken impactful steps to provide women with platforms for growth,” she said, highlighting the department’s initiatives in education and entrepreneurship. “Our women are highly competent and can excel in any field with dedication.”
Dr. M. Kaleem, in his address, underscored the critical role of women’s empowerment in social development. “The Chief Minister of Punjab is committed to advancing women’s empowerment across the province,” he stated. He highlighted past initiatives like the Pink Games and promised their continuation in a more structured manner. “Women are vital to our society, and without their participation, our development goals remain incomplete. Sports Board Punjab is also maximizing opportunities for talented female athletes,” he added.
The event included a dynamic panel discussion where female CEOs offered insights into fostering women’s development. A spirited walk saw widespread participation, amplifying the call for women’s empowerment.
Additionally, women entrepreneurs showcased their talent by setting up 20 stalls featuring renowned brands at the E-Library premises, adding a festive flair to the occasion.
