Speeding dumper crushes woman, child to death

NOWSHERA: A woman and her child while her husband sustained minor injuries when a speeding dumper collided with a motorcycle on GT Road near Khairabad on Wednesday.

Police officials said that Muhammad Qasim, a resident of Mohalla Gul Bahar, Shidu, was returning home with his wife and their one-and-a-half-year-old son, Rehan, after having Iftar at his in-laws’ house in Khairabad. As they reached near Hafiz Abdul Islam Hotel, a dumper (registration number E-2902 Swat), driven recklessly, rammed into their motorcycle from behind. The impact caused Arabia and Rehan to fall under the dumper, resulting in their instant death, while Qasim suffered minor injuries.

The people apprehended the driver and handed him over to the police. The bodies were shifted to Qazi Hussain Medical Complex for post-mortem and later handed over to the family.
