ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari left on Thursday for United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a private visit from March 13 to March 15.
Senate Chairman Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani assumed the charge of acting president in the absence of President Asif Ali Zardari.
According to notification issued by Cabinet Division on Thursday, Senate Chairman Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani in the absence of President Asif Ali Zardari in terms of Article 49(2) of the constitution shall perform the functions of President until his return to Pakistan as for provided in the Constitution.
