LAHORE:A man, who set himself on fire in protest against prolonged judicial delays on the Lahore High Court premises three days ago, succumbed to his injuries in Mayo Hospital on Friday.

The victim, identified as Asif Javed, was an employee of a plant in Kabirwala. According to sources, Asif and several other workers were dismissed by the company for their involvement in union activities. The labour court had ruled in their favour, ordering the company to reinstate them and clear their pending dues. However, the company challenged the decision in the Lahore High Court, where the case had remained unresolved for the past five years. His tragic death has raised serious concerns about delays in the judicial system and the struggle of labourers seeking justice.
