3 killed, five injured in motorway accident
Rawalpindi:Three passengers have died, five sustained critical injuries as a result of severe road accident near Ghazi Interchange at Motorway M-1 Tuesday, a spokesman of the National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) said.
Three people were seriously injured in the accident and shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Hassanabdal, where they expired during the surgery. Motorway Police arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the report, the spokesman said, adding that remaining passengers were sustained minor injuries and discharged after treatment.
The Motorway Police secured the site to taking all precautionary measures, he maintained, saying, the preliminary reports suggest the accident occurred due to driver's negligence and carelessness. The passenger bus had eight passengers and two crew members on board and was traveling from Buner to Rawalpindi.
