Balloting held for residential plots in Margalla Enclave
Islamabad:The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Islamabad on Monday conducted balloting of residential plots in Margalla Enclave, a joint venture between two entities.
CDA Chairman, Muhammad Ali Randhawa and Acting Administrator of DHA Islamabad-Rawalpindi, Brig (retd) Ghulam Murtaza, other officials from two sides and a large gathering of applicants attended balloting ceremony which was held at Jacaranda Family Club (FMC) of DHA Phase-2 Islamabad.
An official on the occasion said that a total of around 47,000 applications were received for 125, 250 and 500 square yards plots in the new CDA-DHA joint housing venture. The CDA Chairman while speaking on the occasion said that Margalla Enclave is just beginning of collaboration between CDA and DHA to meet shortage of houses and provide quality housing facility in the federal capital. Randhawa also promised that with the development work going on at the side, the successful applicants would be able to get possession of their plots in one year.
Project Director of Margalla Enclave said that around 1000 affected people of villages of Rehara and Kurri would be re-located from site of the project, and they would also get due compensation for their land.
Located at foothills of Margalla Hills, the housing project spans over 10,000 kanals and the same would be approached with link roads from Park Road and Srinagar Highway. The housing scheme is also nestled with the Margalla Botanical Garden to jointly developed by CDA and DHA.
