Anti-encroachment operation launched in Nowshera Cantt

NOWSHERA: The Nowshera Cantonment Board has launched a massive operation against encroachments in various localities in its limits.

Following directives from Nowshera Station Commander and President Cantonment Board Brigadier Salman Khalid and Cantonment Executive Officer Arifa Waheed, the staff carried out a vigorous operation against encroachments in Saddar Bazaar, Bara Market, and all other marketplaces, including the Grand Trunk (GT) Road.

The officials had earlier instructed the removal of illegal occupations on government land and the clearing of encroachments from markets, streets and roads.The Nowshera Cantt Board staff led by Enforcement Officer Sajjad Durrani, along with a heavy contingent of police, conducted the grand operation using heavy machinery.

This operation was conducted in Saddar Bazaar, Cavalry Road, Bara Market, Aziz Bhatti Road, Khushhal Pura, GT Road, Babu Mohalla, Kochi Market, and other marketplaces.Earlier, a three-day notice was issued to the business community to voluntarily remove the encroachments or else strict action would be taken. grand operation was launched after the deadline expired. It will continue for seven days.

During the operation, both temporary and permanent encroachments were removed and the cantonment board’s land was reclaimed.Cantt Board CEO Arifa Waheed said that keeping roads and markets free from illegal encroachments was a priority to provide convenience to both citizens and traders.The people were urged to cooperate with the administration and avoid illegal construction to maintain a clean and organised city.
