Nawaz vows to foil attempts to create ‘artificial political crisis’
Nawaz says people, especially young generation, needed a peaceful and developing Pakistan
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) President Nawaz Sharif has said that no attempt to create an artificial political crisis will be allowed to succeed.
“The people of Pakistan will no longer allow anyone to obstruct the journey of development and progress,” the former prime minister said during a meeting with PMLN Senator Irfan Siddiqui in Raiwind on Wednesday. The senator briefed Nawaz Sharif on the performance of parliamentary party in the upper house of parliament.
Nawaz said people, especially young generation, needed a peaceful and developing Pakistan where they have opportunities to play a role according to their capabilities. “Now, by the grace of Allah, the country is once again standing on its feet,” he added.
The former premier said if the journey of construction and development, which started in 2013, had continued, there would have been no need for the IMF or external assistance today. The intentions of those elements inside and outside parliament, who were trying to spread chaos and create instability, should be exposed. “These people do not have the ability to hold serious negotiations and resolve issues with political understanding,” he added.
Nawaz Sharif said that members of parliament belonging to the PMLN should play their role effectively and maintain strong connections with the public.
He said the country was once again standing on its feet. Therefore, now long marches, sit-ins and violent protests would not be allowed.
Nawaz said that a group was not capable of serious negotiations and political understanding and the intentions of those who spread chaos inside and outside parliament must be exposed.
