ISLAMABAD: Following the merger of ministries, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has re-designated the portfolios of federal ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Engineer Amir Muqam and Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi followed by a notification by the Cabinet Division.
According to the notification, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has been given the additional portfolio of defence production.
Khawaja Asif, previously held the portfolio of Aviation Division, which was merged with the Ministry of Defence. Engineer Amir Muqam has been re-designated as Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, State and Frontier Regions. Previously, Amir Muqam was Minister for States and Frontier Regions (Safron) with additional charge of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Now the Ministry of Safron has been merged with Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan. Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has been re-designated as Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control.
Earlier, he was holding the additional charge of the Narcotics Control Division which was merged with the Ministry of Interior.
