ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will undertake five-day visit of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the last week of this month.
The visit to Azerbaijan will start on February 24 and the prime minister will stay there for three days while he will stay in Uzbekistan for two days.
Highly placed sources in the Prime Minister’s House told The News/Jang here Saturday evening that in Baku $2 billion agreements will be inked with regard to investment in Pakistan.
The investment agreements would focus on the exploration of oil and gas, harnessing renewable energy and energy efficiency, which would pave the way for further collaboration in these crucial areas.
Azerbaijan President Ilham Heydar Oghlu Aliyev visited Islamabad in July last year and he extended an invitation to Prime Minister Shehbaz to visit his country.
It would be the third visit of the prime minister to that country in about two years.
