PTI prepares dossier for IMF, citing ‘two and a half years of injustice’
Faisal say that Imarn's trial is being conducted in controlled environment, denying him the right to a fair trial
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has prepared a dossier for the International Monetary Fund (IMF), detailing its challenges over the past two and a half years.
Faisal Chaudhry, legal counsel for PTI’s founding chairman Imran Khan, announced this while speaking to the media outside the Adiala jail in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
He said that while the IMF delegation is currently visiting Pakistan, the PTI has compiled a dossier that will be presented to the delegation. The document consists of ‘facts,’ including details of bullet injuries, supporting evidence, and medico-legal reports. He said the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, will present the dossier to the IMF delegation.
Imran Khan had previously written to the IMF, urging it to link future loans to an audit of the general elections held on February 8.
Faisal Chaudhry said the party founder has instructed support for the lawyers’ movement on appointing judges.
Faisal Chaudhry said that the trial of PTI’s founding chairman is being conducted in a controlled environment, denying him the right to a fair trial. “We have requested that the trial be conducted in an open court. There should be no gagging or selective justice,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the Senate Shibli Faraz has written two letters to the Senate chairman, raising concerns over the non-acceptance of PTI Senator Sania Nishtar’s resignation. In the second letter, he questioned failure to issue production order for Senator Ijaz Chaudhry.
