The Jamaat-e-Islami’s Karachi chapter on Monday hosted the ‘Kashmir Conference’ to highlight the freedom movement of Jammu & Kashmir in connection with Kashmir Day, which is observed every February 5, at the JI’s city headquarters Idara Noor-e-Haq.
Local politicians, civil society representatives, religious scholars, business leaders and others expressed their views at the conference. The speakers collectively urged Islamabad to play its due role for the freedom of India-occupied Kashmir.
JI Karachi chief Monem Zafar said Pakistan is a nuclear power, and it is an obligation of the state and the government to fulfil its responsibilities in connection with the completion of the agenda of the inception of the country.
Zafar reiterated his stance that the division of the Indian subcontinent is incomplete without the liberation of India-occupied Jammu & Kashmir. He said that when it comes to the cause of Kashmir, the United Nations has failed miserably.
