Transporters reject TMA tax in Nowshera
NOWSHERA: The All Pakistan Goods Transport and Adda Association, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Thursday announced to move court as well as file cases with National Accountability Bureau and Anti-Corruption Establishment against the illegal collection of road tax from goods transporters by the Pabbi Tehsil Municipal Administration.
The tehsil municipal officer of Pabbi and the tax superintendent were collecting road tax from goods transporters illegally, and the association would go to any extent to snatch their rights.They said that TMA Pabbi had imposed an illegal tax on goods transport, which by law was not applicable to goods transporters.
They accused Pabbi TMA Tax Superintendent Akhtar Ali and TMO Ameen Gul of corrupt practices, saying that they had deployed their agents to collect illegal tax.
