Passenger offloaded after bullets seized from his bag

A Qatar-bound passenger was offloaded from his flight at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Monday after 13 live 9mm bullets were recovered from his laptop bag during a security check.

The passenger was handed over to Sarwar Rozad police for further investigation. The Airport Security Force (ASF) identified the passenger as Shan Sadiq, a resident of Walton, Lahore, who was travelling to Doha. The bullets were discovered during a final security check after the passenger had already cleared initial ASF screening and immigration counters.

Shan, who works as a traffic assistant for Qatar Airways in Doha, claimed the bullets were purchased by his father under a valid licence and were accidentally left in the laptop bag. He stated he was unaware of their presence. Police have registered a case under Section 13-A of the Punjab Arms Ordinance 1965 after Shan failed to produce a licence for the bullets. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities verifying the passenger’s statement and the alleged ownership of the ammunition.
