ISLAMABAD: Large-scale appointments and transfers were made in the Foreign Ministry, while Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also approved the appointment of Pakistan’s new ambassadors to several countries.
According to reports, new consuls general are also being appointed in many countries. In this regard, the process of appointment of ambassadors has also been started.
According to sources, Ahmed Naseem Waraich has been appointed as Additional Foreign Secretary Admin, earlier he was Additional Secretary Afghanistan. Syed Ali Asad Gilani has been appointed as additional foreign secretary Afghanistan.
Dr. Fariha Bugti has been appointed as Director General Personnel. She has returned to Pakistan after serving as Deputy Ambassador to the United States.
Director Foreign Secretary Abbas Qureshi is going on a training course. Hafiz Afaq Ahmed has been appointed as Director Foreign Secretary. He has returned from the UAE after serving as Deputy Ambassador.
Seljuk Mustansir Tarar is no longer going to Indonesia and is joining the International Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri is being sent to Indonesia, Najib Durrani is being sent to Ghana while Moazzam Shah is being sent to South Korea.
Besides, Abdul Hamid Bhatta will be Pakistan’s Ambassador to Japan. The current ambassador to Japan, Bashir Tarar, is retiring. Haider Shah will be Pakistan’s ambassador to the Netherlands. Shah is currently the additional foreign secretary United Nations.
