Woman journalist, sisters injured in attack
PESHAWAR: A woman journalist and her two sisters were wounded when allegedly attacked in the limits of the Bhanamari Police Station on Sunday.
Rani, a reporter, and her sisters Nahid Jehangir and Salma Jehangir were returning from a family function when a car intercepted their auto-rickshaw and hit it.The inmates of the car allegedly tortured them severely and the women sustained injuries and were rushed to a hospital.
The victims later lodged a case with the Bhanamari police. One of the accused Roman, a cousin of the victims, was arrested while raids were being conducted to capture other suspects. Police attributed the incident to a family dispute. The Khyber Union of Journalists condemned the attack and demanded proper action against the accused.
