Drug peddlers arrested; drugs seized

LAHORE: Lahore Police launched a crackdown on criminal elements on Friday. Sabzazar police detained drug peddlers Rahat Ali and Sadiq and recovered over two kilogrammes hashish from their possession.

Manga Mandi police arrested two female drug peddlers identified as Iram Shehzadi and Allah Mafi alias Mafi and recovered over 3.66kg Hashish from them. Shera Kot police arrested accused Usman and Noman near Nala Malik Park on 100 Feet Road and recovered six motorcycles and pistols from them.

Masti Gate police arrested accused Ali Hassan and Qasim alias Zubairi and recovered two motorcycles, two mobile phones, illegal weapons, and a sack filled with new shoes from their possession.

Gulberg police detained accused Khizar Hayat and Naeem and seized three rifles. The Dolphin Squad detained record-holder drug peddler Saddam in the Sanda area and recovered 500 gram ice. The Dolphin Squad also arrested a two-member robbery gang identified as Ali and Saqib from the Shahdara Town area and recovered a pistol from his possession.

311 suspects arrested

Punjab police dismantled 142 criminal gangs and arrested 311 gang members during the first 16 days of this year. Stolen goods worth over Rs70 million, including 17 vehicles, 310 motorcycles, 19 tolas of gold, 152 mobile phones, 19 livestock, and Rs21 million in cash, were recovered and returned to their rightful owners.
