ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder chairman’s sister Aleema Khan Friday said her brother had decided that the world human rights bodies would be moved with regard to the alleged injustices, being done to his party people.

Talking to journalists outside the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi after having a meeting with Imran Khan, she quoted her brother as telling her that they were left with no option but to take their human rights plea to the international bodies, to which Pakistan is a signatory.

“We went to the high court, and the HR petition was fixed before the chief justice here and then it was fixed before the then chief justice Qazi Faez Isa and moved to a constitutional court, but the cruelty continued, as no court in the country is ready to hear our plea,” she quoted Imran as saying.

The party supremo, she noted, said that party worker Sami Wazir lost mental balance and was unable to walk when released from a military jail and also referred to the issue of torture unleashed to Zill-e-Shah.

She said when they want to do something, then the jail opens at 7am and meetings are held at night as well.

Aleema noted that the government members said the PTI founder had tweeted, perhaps that was why talks should be stopped, whereas the party founder had said that the jail authorities had themselves denied a meeting with the negotiating committee in the morning.

If the Al-Qadir case goes to the high court, she claimed, the whole world would come to know what a big joke that was. Bushra Bibi had said in the previous hearing that she would not come to the next hearing.

Aleema believed that the PTI founder would be acquitted of all these cases. From day one, he had been saying that he would be acquitted of all cases; he was still sticking to his word that he would face his cases.

Regarding a controversy on the appointment of Salman Akram Raja, she said the PTI founder had appointed him as the party secretary general and he had to say what Imran would tell him to say. She said the party had been standing with the PTI founder since February 8, and was not under anyone’s control.

She made it clear that they (Imran’s sisters) would continue to share their brother’s message with the media as long as he was in jail, but clarified they had nothing to do with politics. Imran, she pointed out, was running the party alone from jail, without having any office or seat.

Aleema rejected PM’s Advisor Rana Sanaullah’s assertion that she wanted to take over the party. “Imran Khan had a hearty laugh after hearing his news conference and I suggested to him to hand over the party to him after his sorrowful news conference,” she said.

She regretted that neither family members were being allowed to meet Imran Khan nor his personal physician. She said Imran’s sons were not permitted to talk to him for months, saying that it was against the jail rules. She termed it mental torture to the PTI founder.

The PTI founder’s sister claimed they have been receiving warnings for some months to soften their brother’s message, otherwise, they would face ‘consequences’.

She said while her sister was permitted to meet Imran, she was denied initially and they walked inside from the main gate on foot in protest. Aleema added her brother drew attention of the court to this matter.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan Friday said that the party’s Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has the trust of founder chairman PTI Imran Khan.

In a statement here, Gohar said that Salman Akram has been appointed as Secretary General by the founder PTI; who should be appointed or removed is for the founder PTI to decide, such appointments have been made in the past too.

On PTI’s senior leader Sher Afzal Marwat’s accusation of violation of party rules against Salman Akram, Gohar said that the ‘constitution of our party is the founder PTI, so this is an internal matter of the party’.

Regarding the negotiations with the government, the PTI chairman said that they will hold a third meeting with the government committee and will put the points in writing before the government committee.
