FIA sources discloses that 10 social media accounts were identified for allegedly spreading fabricated content
LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cybercrime Wing has launched an investigation into the circulation of AI-generated videos and images involving Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
FIA sources disclosed that 10 social media accounts have been identified for allegedly spreading fabricated content intended to propagate negative narratives.
The investigation, initiated based on a source report, aims to trace the origins of the material and uncover the individuals behind its dissemination.
Officials said that the crackdown is part of a wider campaign to address the misuse of artificial intelligence for malicious purposes, a growing global concern in recent years. The FIA assured that efforts to scrutinise the identified accounts are ongoing and pledged to hold those responsible accountable.
