Problems of Cantt business community to be resolved soon
Rawalpindi:To increase economic activities in Rawalpindi Cantt, resolve parking issues and to provide better facilities to the citizens coming for shopping, especially senior citizens and families, the ongoing development initiatives and projects should be valued.
Parking issues for the citizens coming to the business centres and the problems faced by the business community will be solved only through understanding and negotiations. These views were expressed in a meeting between the delegation of the Central Organisation Tajran Cantonment Registered and Additional Cantonment Executive Officer of Cantt Board Haider Shuja and Secretary Cantonment Muhammad Rashid Saqib.
The delegation was led by Zahid Bakhtawari, Sheikh Inayatullah, Rafiq Bhatia and other officials. On this occasion, Zahid Bakhtavari stated that the first two phases of development have been completed in the Cantt and phase three and four are in the final stages of completion. And after the beautification of the Bank Road as agreed upon by the Station Commander and the Cantonment Executive Officer in a joint meeting of the two factions of Cantt business organisations last December, problems faced by traders and citizens on foot coming for shopping and parking are under consideration.
After the completion of underground cabling and other development, a central organisation, Traders Cantonment, has been established with the commitment to solve the issue. The purpose of all trade organisations is to protect the rights of traders and shoppers. He further said that there is no precedent for ongoing development projects of billions of rupees in the history of Cantt.
In the meeting, Additional Cantonment Executive Officer of Cantt Board Haider Shuja expressed his concern and said that the protests will worsen the situation and hinder the completion of the project. So we request all traders to allow the development work to be completed on time He further said that all ongoing development works in Cantt will be completed in the month of May and we assure you that according to the unanimous decisions made in the last joint meeting, all the problems faced by the merchant community of Cantt, especially Bank Road, will be solved through mutual negotiations and understanding.
