Indonesian president to visit Pakistan this month
President Prabowo Subianto, who was elected in October last, would stay in Pakistan for three days, sources said
ISLAMABAD: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will undertake his maiden official visit to Pakistan later this month.
He is the first foreign head of state to visit Pakistan this year. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited him for the visit. Sources told The News here Thursday that the schedule for the visit is being worked out through diplomatic channels.
President Prabowo Subianto, who was elected in October last, would stay in Pakistan for three days, the sources said. Earlier President Joko Widodo visited Pakistan during the last stint of the PMLN government in January 2018. The sources said that a high-powered delegation would accompany President Parabowo.
He will have talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and will meet President Asif Ali Zardari who will host a banquet in his honour. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will also have meetings with the Indonesian president. Several bilateral agreements will be signed during the visit, the sources added.
