National Hockey Championship begins

KARACHI: The 68th DHA Karachi National Senior Hockey Championship began on Saturday with three exciting matches at Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey stadium.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) defeated Islamabad by 7 goals to 1. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Muazmal Shah scored two goals, while Islahuddin, Muhammad Ahmed, Ahmar Imtiaz, Abbas Ahmed, and Yasir Ali scored one goal each. The only goal for Islamabad was scored by Muhammad Irfan Aslam.

Navy won against Punjab by 8 goals to 3. Navy’s Basharat Ali and Muhammad Shaheer scored two goals each, while Muhammad Waseem, Saifullah, Azmat Ansar, and Hammad Ali scored one goal each. Muhammad Ibrahim, Shahid Abbas, and Ahmed Raza scored one goal each for Punjab.

Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) defeated Sindh by 6 goals to 1. MPCL’s Arbaaz Ahmed scored two goals, while Umair Sattar, Ali Murtaza, and Ali Hashir scored one goal each. The only goal from Sindh was scored by Noman Khan.
