ISLAMABAD: After the overthrow of Sheikh Hasina Wajid government, mutual relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh are strenghthening.
An international conference on Pak-Bangladesh relations was held at the Pakistan National Council of Arts Auditorium, Islamabad. The Bangladeshi participants expressed solidarity with Pakistan and stressed the need for unity to jointly fight the scourge of Indian Hindutva.
The participants emphasized the importance of unity among the Muslims of South Asia.
The conference was organised in collaboration with Rafah International University, Global Youth Association, Pak Social Alliance and Pakistan Civil Society.
Participants from Bangladesh, including Dr. Professor Shahduzman, former Dean of Dhaka University, and international scholars participated online. This is the first time since 1971 that such a large number of people from Bangladesh participated in a Pakistani event. The participants emphasized on moving forward together for common peace, prosperity and development.
Eminent academicians, youth leaders, social media activists and successful entrepreneurs from Pakistan were the main speakers. The participants highlighted the need to avoid fake news and stand with the armed forces. They paid tribute to the sacrifices of soldiers, Biharis and patriotic citizens during the turbulent year of 1971 in East Pakistan. The speakers said Bangladesh gained its second independence as a result of the “monsoon revolution”. In the revolution, the youth of Bangladesh achieved success by sacrificing nearly 2,000 lives, they said.
