Issuance of license to Hazesco demanded
MANSEHRA: The central vice-president of the All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Workers Union, Jamil Tanoli, on Tuesday urged the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to issue a license to the Hazara Electric Supply Company (Hazesco) to ensure its smooth functioning in the large interests of commercial and domestic consumers.
“The government has appointed a Chief Executive Officer for Hazesco, but unfortunately, he remains powerless, leaving commercial and domestic consumers to suffer,” he told journalists here.
Flanked by other office-bearers, Tanoli said that due to technical issues faced by the newly formed company, people in the Hazara division were enduring prolonged power outages and low-voltage issues.“Once Nepra and SECP issue a license, Hazesco will be able to serve its consumers more effectively and generate revenue for the government,” he said.
