LAHORE: Muhammad Ali Larosh of Wapda emerged as the standout performer at the Chairman POF Board National Ranking Badminton Championships, claiming both the singles and the doubles titles.
The championship, held at Wah Cantt, also saw strong performances from Ghazala Siddique in the women's singles and the pair of Saima Waqas and Ammarah Ishtiaq in the women's doubles.
In the men’s singles final, Ali Larosh (Wapda) showcased his dominance by defeating teammate Irfan Saeed (Wapda) in straight sets, 21-13, 21-14. In the women’s singles, Ghazala Siddique (Wapda) clinched the title as her opponent, Mahoor Shahzad (Wapda), retired hurt early in the second set, with the score at 21-12, 4-1.
The men’s doubles title was secured by the duo of Raja Zulqarnain Haider (Army) and Ali Larosh (Wapda), who overcame Awais Zahid and Zunain Javed (Wapda) in an exciting match, 21-18, 21-16.
In the women’s doubles final, the pair of Saima Waqas (Wapda) and Ammarah Ishtiaq (Army) triumphed over Palwasha Bashir (Sindh) and Ghazala Siddique (Wapda) in a thrilling three-set encounter, 21-15, 12-21, 21-10.
