Jazz and Engro Connect forge partnership
KARACHI: Jazz, VEON’s leading digital operator in Pakistan, and Engro Connect, a subsidiary of Engro Corporation, have entered into a strategic collaboration to strengthen Pakistan’s telecommunications infrastructure and accelerate the nation’s digital transformation.
Through this agreement, Jazz’s infrastructure assets, managed by its subsidiary Deodar (Private) Limited, will integrate with Engro Connect under a regulatory-compliant scheme of arrangement. Jazz will retain access to Deodar’s extensive infrastructure portfolio through a long-term lease agreement, ensuring seamless mobile voice and data services nationwide.
This partnership is a significant step in Jazz’s evolution into a fully digital ServiceCo, aligning with VEON’s asset-light strategy and commitment to operational efficiency. By reallocating resources, Jazz aims to expand its portfolio in fintech, entertainment, cloud services, data centres and insure-tech, while driving inclusion and empowering communities with cutting-edge digital solutions.
CEO of Jazz Aamir Ibrahim highlighted, “This collaboration underscores our mission to drive Pakistan’s digital transformation. Partnering with Engro Connect enhances our ability to deliver world-class services and empowers millions of Pakistanis with seamless connectivity.”
Abdul Samad Dawood, director of Engro Corporation, added, “This partnership leverages Engro’s infrastructure expertise to deliver affordable, high-quality connectivity, fostering progress across the telecom ecosystem and empowering communities.” Together, Jazz and Engro Connect reaffirm their commitment to fostering innovation and creating sustainable value, paving the way for a digitally empowered Pakistan.
