Journalist laid to rest
SWABI: Mohammad Arifullah Sarhadi, a senior journalist and the founder and Editor-in-chief of Daily Islah, Swabi, passed away and was laid to rest on Monday.
The funeral prayer was offered at 10 am at Gul Dher (Tordher, Sherabad Swabi-Jahangira Road) and he was laid to rest at the native graveyard. When contacte, his sons, Mehmood Jan and Atta Ullah Shah said that he had been seriously ill for the last few months. His condition became more critical during the last few days.
They said that he breathed his last at home and passed away peacefully at the age of 80. He was born in 1944. He left behind a widow, five sons — Gul Bacha, Mahmood Jan, Faiq Khan, Qari Idrees and Abid Khan — and four daughters to mourn his death. People from all walks of life, including politicians, lawyers and journalists of various unions attended his funeral.
