PTI looks to Musk’s Starlink amid internet issues
Former ruling party urges billionaire to provide Starlink internet services for its protest set to take place today
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has urged Elon Musk to provide his Starlink internet services in Pakistan for its planned protest on November 24, Sunday.
According to ‘PTIofficial’ website, a statement (request) has been posted, which addresses Elon Musk as “hey Elon@elonmusk!” and that millions of Pakistanis are marching for restoration of democracy, protection of constitution and upholding of human rights, in their country this Sunday, November 24th. “The world needs to see and hear their remarkable story! The illegitimate, authoritarian regime has not only shut down @X since February 2024, abducted and tortured social media activists as well as their family members but is now planning on shutting down the internet altogether. Pakistan needs Starlink,” the statement reads. The post also displays two hashtags: ‘Pakistan under fascism and undeclared Martial law’.
