OGDCL begins production from Uch-35 well
KARACHI: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has successfully commenced production from its Uch-35 development well, marking another milestone in the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance Pakistan’s energy capacity.
In a notice sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), OGDCL said that the well, drilled to a depth of 1,345 meters, targets the hydrocarbon-rich Sui Main Limestone (SML) formation.
The Uch-35 well is currently producing five million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas. Following the installation of an eight-inch diameter, 1.2-kilometre flow line, the well has been connected to the OGDCL Uch gas processing plant, allowing for gas supply to Uch Power Limited (UPL).
OGDCL holds a 100 per cent stake as the operator of the Uch Development & Production Lease (D&PL), located in District Dera Bugti in Balochistan. With its strategic position, the company continues to play a pivotal role in the region’s energy sector.
The company emphasised its commitment to synchronising exploration, drilling and development efforts to optimise production and contribute to the country’s energy security and sustainable development.
