Pakistan crush Afghanistan in Baseball United Arab Classic
KARACHI: Pakistan’s baseball team extended its winning streak in the Arab Baseball Classic, in Dubai, beating Afghanistan 17-3 to secure its fourth consecutive victory. With this win, Pakistan clinched the top spot in its group and earned a place in the semifinals.
Pakistan’s batters led the charge, with standout performances from Zain, Mohammad Hussain, Mohammad Shah, Wahid, and Ammar. Zain delivered a powerful inside-the-park home run, along with a grand slam that energized the team and fans alike.
Early in the game, Pakistan set a strong defensive tone with a double play by Wahid, Zain, and Sameer, tightening its hold on the game.
Pitchers Hasnain Jan, Syed Ali, and Hasan Imam kept Afghanistan’s offense at bay, displaying control and skill.
This win adds to Pakistan’s previous victories over India, the United Arab Emirates, and Bangladesh, completing an unbeaten run through the group stage.
The team now heads to the semifinals with high hopes of advancing to the championship game.
