Islamabad:Key insights from the international survey Ipsos Global Trends, focusing on Pakistan, were shared with diplomats, civil society members, educators and journalists during an event at the residence of French Ambassador Nicolas Galey here.
Managing Director of Ipsos Abdul Sattar Babar and Chief Knowledge Officer Simon Atkinson highlighted the core values and beliefs of Pakistanis, comparing them to global trends, and offered a future road map based on data gathered from 50,000 interviews worldwide.
According to them, around 1,000 Pakistanis hailing from diverse backgrounds and regions were asked those questions. The survey found Pakistanis to be generally optimistic people despite their economic, social and psychological issues. They've a distinctive mix of traditional values like a strong focus on family and religion, nostalgia, and status consciousness.
However, Pakistanis turned out to be conservative about the women's role in society as most of them see women as wife or mother. However, they're open to adopting new technologies, expect longer lifespans, and place greater emphasis on physical health compared with mental well-being.
Amid discrimination, Pakistanis tend to be more optimistic and happier than the global average. They also share common global concerns like wealth inequality, and value quality customer experiences, individual autonomy, and a focus on the present due to an uncertain future, according to the survey.
